Yu-Foo Yee Shoon (b. 17 February 1950, Singapore - ), a Hainanese, became the first woman to be appointed mayor in Singapore. She was made mayor on 31 March 2001. She had been involved in politics as a Member of Parliament since 1984, making her one of the longest serving women politicians in the male-dominated parliament. Her favourite causes are inevitably those relating to the struggles of local women.
Her early education was at Nanyang Girls' High School.

1971 : Held numerous posts in National Trade Union Congress.
1984 - 1996 : Member of Parliament for Yuhua.
1993 - 1997 : Chairman, Government Parliamentary Committee for Community Development.
1996 : Member of Parliament for Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency.
1997 - Jul 1999 : Chairman, Government Parliamentary Committee for Manpower.
1999 : Vice-Chairman, People's Action Party Women's Wing Executive Committee.
3 Jun 1999 : Senior Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Community Development.
31 Mar 2002 : Mayor of the Southwest Community Development Council.
1992 : Rochdale Award from the Singapore National Co-operative Federation.
1995 : Woman of the Year Award
Father: Immigrant from China and worked as a principal.
Husband: Yu Lee Wu, an engineering lecturer.
