| Abstract: |
| The aim of art therapy is to use the creative process of drawing, painting, or sculpture as a means of self-expression and exploration, with the ultimate aim of effecting personal growth and development. A professional art therapist facilitates this process, and is trained in both art and therapeutic practice. Art therapy thus encompasses several disciplines including the fine arts, healthcare, psychology and psychotherapy, and education. Art therapists may be employed in schools, hospitals, and clinics, and form part of a holistic healthcare and educational system. This PathFinder serves as a guide to help you locate resources on art therapy available at National Library Board libraries as well as on the Internet. |
