Abstract:
Established in 1985, the Nestlé Children’s Book Prize, formerly known as the Smarties Book Prize honors titles in three children's age groups (five and under, six to eight, and nine to eleven) annually. This book prize honours quality fiction or poetry written for children by citizens or residents of the United Kingdom. A short list of titles is chosen each year by adult judges, but school children are selected to read, judge and choose winners from the list for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards.
